About Katrina
Katrina King is very active in the classical and contemporary music arena of Arizona fine arts.
Currently, Katrina is the principal flutist for the Symphony of the Southwest (formerly Mesa Symphony Orchestra) and the Four Seasons Orchestra.
Her broad range of musical experiences arises from participation in the following ensembles:
Chandler Symphony Orchestra
Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra
Arizona Chamber Symphony
Musica Nova
Katrina is a founding member of Kokopelli Flutes, a flute quartet. Kokopelli Flutes have entertained audiences in settings from Weddings, receptions and private parties. Further expanding her musical horizons, Katrina performs with Chris Hnottavange in Marsyas Duo as a flute and guitar duo, as well as Jim Whitaker in a piano and flute duo.
She has been the featured artist in numerous masterclasses, concerts, recitals and National flute Association conventions.
Katrina is a frequent clinician at area public and charter schools providing expert guidance to students who may be unable to attend private lessons.
A member of the Arizona Flute Society since its inception in 1995, Katrina is currently an officer on the board of directors. Katrina enjoys working with her fellow board members in providing opportunities for Phoenix area flutists.
Katrina Is a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a degree in Music Education. She has studied privately with Mr. Joe Corral of the Phoenix Symphony and Ms. Anne Diener-Zentner, principal flutist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
